Washington – Thursday morning, the U.S. House of Representatives narrowly turned back an effort by U.S. Representative Pete P. Gallego (D-Alpine) to add or expand 26 VA facilities throughout the country. By a vote of 201-213 when the gavel fell, U.S. Rep. Gallego was only 12 votes short of a success in an effort to get the U.S. House to agree to a position already approved by the U.S. Senate.
